About Ashley Davis Prend

Ashley Davis Prend, LCSW, ACSW is a psychotherapist and grief counselor in private practice in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She is also a writer and the author of several self-help books: Transcending Loss and Claim Your Inner Grown-up. Her work focuses on coping with losses, searching for meaning, maximizing one's potential, and finding inner peace.

Ashley is co-host of the popular talk radio program "Heart to Heart . . .  . . . with Ashley and Andy" on Portsmouth Community Radio WSCA-LP (106.1 FM).  Ashley and her colleague Andy Nathan discuss mental health/life enhancement based issues with guest experts and call-in participation.  This program can be streamed live on the web on Wednesdays at 12 noon (EST) by going to www.wirenh.com, then clicking on the "wire radio" button and then clicking again on the Portsmouth Community Radio listen link.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Smith College as well as a Masters in Social Work degree from Columbia University. She has additional advanced training from the National Institute for Psychotherapies in New York City. Ashley worked in community mental health in New York City for close to ten years and has been living and working on the seacoast of New Hampshire since 1997.

Ashley is a frequent public speaker and workshop leader. Since 1992, she has delivered keynote speeches to professional and community organizations and has taught workshops on the subjects of grief and loss, parenting, and personal empowerment.

Ashley is the mother of three children who keep her constantly growing and energized (well, and frequently exhausted!)

Ashley is also a classically trained soprano. She is a regular performer with professional companies, choral groups, churches, and community theatres in the genres of musical theatre, opera, and sacred music.  Favorite roles include 'Grace Farrell' in "Annie" and 'Glinda the Good Witch' in "The Wizard of Oz."
